A small selection of the questions often asked
What length are most ‘Come and Try It’ events?
The most popular distance for these events is 10 miles.
Do I have to use lights?
It is a good idea to use a rear light when you’re racing even in good conditions as the more visible you are to other road users the better. In fact some clubs insist on using them in their events so it’s a good idea to bring one with you.
Is drafting allowed in time trial events?
No, the rules say you must ride on your own in time trial, so don’t try and up your pace and stay with a rider who catches you in an event.
What is the most important thing to get right in your first time trial?
Most importantly to get round the course safely! Do remember to keep your head up as there is sometimes a tendency to look down when you are trying hard.
